Purchased a beautiful white Vauxhall Corsa for my son who has recently passed his driving test and is his first car. Saw the car on Ebay and contacted Peter who was really helpful and went out of his way to answer any questions and arrange for us to view the car, even putting himself out and coming in early on a Sunday morning as we were travelling quite a long way to see it. As soon as my son saw it he fell in love with it, and having under 20,000 miles on the clock the car was just like brand new and it had been recently cleaned to a fantastic standard both inside and out. The price was fair and Peter made the whole process of buying the car from start to finish an easy and totally stress free transaction and my soon is absolutely over the moon with the car which is faultless. I recently purchased a wheelchair-accessible vehicle from Wheelchair Cars and I was really happy with the service. Informative, helpful, delivery on time and the part-ex car was taken.
I had been looking for a decent 2nd hand WAV for a while but was unsure what I was really looking for/at as I’ve never had/needed one before. I took a look at a couple through private sellers but was not sure. Took one more look on Google for a dealer and found these guys.
So glad I took another look. Right from the start they were very friendly and open with everything. I took my mum (wheelchair user) along to have a look and see what was within my budget and was made to feel welcome. I was shown several vehicles in my price range and never felt rushed to make a decision.
The actual purchase procedure was made quickly and easy with full MOT being done before I collected the car. They even took my old duct-tape special as a small part exchange!
I waited 6 weeks or so to do this review so I could run the vehicle and see if there were any issues and I’m glad I did wait. The engine developed a slight rattle and, once I let them know about this, they collected the car one day, sorted the problem out and delivered it back the next. We’re not exactly round the corner from the garage so it was a nice surprise to have the collection/delivery instead of having to take it down myself.
Problem sorted, I’m more than happy with Wheelchair Cars Ltd and am very happy to recommend them to everybody.

At the beginning of the year in, the midst of the pandemic, we were looking for a wheelchair adapted vehicle to meet the needs of my less able 91 year old mother-in-law. Some desk top research quickly took us to the wheelchaircars.co.uk. The website was excellent, setting out all the information we needed in a very professional and accessible style.
I gave them a ring and spoke with Pete. From the outset he was extremely helpful, professional, giving all the information and advice required to make the decision to buy a suitable vehicle in our price range. An initial choice was indicated and Pete arranged for us to visit his garage in Manchester, so we drove over the Pennines from Sheffield to visit Wheelchair Cars.
We viewed a number of cars all very well presented, clean and sparkling. Our selection was made; a 2015 Peugeot Partner Horizon in metallic blue.
The car named by our three grandchildren ‘The Nan Van’ has been brilliant making doctors, hospital & opticians appointments and our lives a lot easier. Trips out for lunch to shopping malls in the area are now a regular part of Nan’s routine.
The five month guarantee gave us peace of mind; a problem with an exhaust pipe blowing was quickly resolved by a phone call to Pete. We took the car to our local tyre & exhaust garage, the problem was identified and after a quick phone conversation with Pete the required part was deliver to the garage, fitted and Wheelchair Cars paid the bill. Excellent service!

ive just purchased a VW off this company — in august 2021– the service and after service was first class, the young salesman CALUM WAS EXCELLENT– nothing was to much trouble for this young man – he explained the good and bad points on different models – in relation to our needs – there was no pressure to buy and test driving models was offered and done with no problem- the actual VW was put through a new MOT before purchase ( even though it still had over 6 months on the old one ) and as well any thoughts concerns about any point on the VW was done with the mot — and the follow up after service has been first class ————- many thanks CALUM & boss PETE –H.G. very satisfed customer
On 7th July 2020 my disabled son and i purchased a Peugeot Partner Tepee, Horizon SE from Wheelchair cars ltd, it was all done online and everything went perfectly well including delivery, My son being in a care home was locked down because of covid and never got to ride in the car until the
18th of May 2021, This was his first day out for 17 months.
And on that day 11 months after purchase we realised that the 2 Carabiners were missing from the electric hoist, there is of course an alternative to using the electric hoist and that was present and working ok, My son has used the electric hoist in the care homes WAV cars so asked me to purchase the Carabiners, i did’nt know where to get them so i telephoned Wheelchair cars to ask where i could buy them and to my surprise they said don’t worry we will send you them, i asked how much do i owe you and was told nothing we are glad to have happy customers and i was’nt even asked for money for postage.
I am sorry to say that i did not get the name of the person who attended to me but i would like to say a big Thank You for the wonderful service i received. I am so pleased that we chose Wheelchair cars for our 1st WAV car and would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase excellent low mileage used cars.

Recently bought a Peugeot Partner Horizon to get out and about with my wheelchair bound husband. I contacted Wheelchair Cars as they were relatively near to me and they had good reviews. I couldn’t have made a better choice. I don’t have family near by and have a to do everything myself, which can be daunting but Peter was very helpful and made the purchase really easy and straight forward. From the outset Peter, Julie and Callum were very attentive, kind, knowledgable and helpful; enabling us to learn about WAV vehicles generally and then to better understand which specific type best met our particular needs. The whole buying experience was positive due to the caring approach of the team – something which is particularly important with this type of vehicle and in light of my mother having suffered a severe stroke. Since then, we have had totally reliable motoring which has helped our family to remain mobile and have a life outside the home in a very versatile vehicle. During these last couple of years we have twice phoned to ask follow-up questions about ongoing vehicle care, servicing and seatbelt harnesses and have found the aftercare to be consistently of a very high standard. Peter has been very good since purchasing a specially adapted vehicle and he is true to his word he told me if i had any issies to take it back and he would sort it and he has with no charges. He even picked it up and dropped it off . Would definately reccommend peter if looking for a good honest deal
I bought a Fiat Doblo early in 2017 to accommodate my wife’s wheelchair which she has to use following a stroke the previous year. Pete has been very prompt and helpful in dealing with winch issues. (without charge, whilst out of warranty).

The service I have received from wheelchair cars has been just amazing not only did they explain everything and take me for a drive, but they even filled up the petrol tank. A great company to buy from.
Had been looking for a mobility car so that I could take my mother out as she is in a home and wheelchair bound. Called wheelchair Cars and spoke to Peter, very helpful and explained that he would bring the vehicle out for me to have look at it and see if it would be appropriate for mother, with no commitment to buy. He was true to his word and the vehicle was as advertised, took my mother out in it today, first time she has been able to leave the home in 12 months, its one of the best things I have ever done so a big thank you Peter. From my experience I would recommend Wheelchair Cars.
Peter is in Manchester and I live near Edinburgh. He very kindly opened up on a Saturday to let me view the cars he had. I selected a VW CADDY which he delivered to PL Mobility in Larbert near me where we got the wheelchair lock adjusted. While they were doing that we did all the paperwork with Peter even getting the vehicle taxed. He then explained all the controls before he headed back to Manchester.
At last I had car and was looking forward to some drives. Unfortunately the car developed an intermittent fault with the electric handbrake finally making the car immobile on the last day of the four moth guarantee. I need not have worried as Peter said he would cover the cost of the repair.
The fault turned out to be a loose connection on the handbrake control box. The cost was covered immediately and I now have my car back and am looking forward to getting out and about.
So thank you Peter for all your help. I’d be more than happy to recommend you and Wheelchair Cars ltd. to anyone looking for an adapted vehicle.
I only found this site/business by accident as i’d been searching for a wheelchair adapted vehicle for months, as there aren’t many automatic wheelchair accessible petrol cars on the market for a reasonable price. My previous search ended up with my having to go trading standards due to a dangerous car. Luckily I found Wheelchair cars! Their knowledge of mobility problems and vehicles is fantastic and they think nothing of helping people like me and my many physical needs. I saw the Renault Kangoo with lightweight ramp with only 29k miles. It had all the bells and whistles you need and expect from a mobility car. I spoke with Julie initially who talked me through my needs and to advise if the car I chose would be suitable – it was. Julie then talked me through the process and explained that all MOT’s are done prior to delivery, so that the car is ‘ready’ for purchase when they deliver the car to you.
Peter brought the car to my door at no expense with everything ready to go. He explained what everything was, and how best to put your mobility scooter in and use the straps. He was very knowledgeable. After a test drive, I decided to purchase the car there and then. Let me say you are NOT pressured into buying the car, it’s about what’s best for you. There’s no pressure for a sale, and they are extremely amenable. Some garages make you feel like you’re being pressured, Wheelchair cars don’t.
I decided to buy the car as it was perfect for me, the price was really low even though the condition of the car was excellent and with very low mileage. As it’s ‘ready for sale’, Peter had all the relevant documents with him along with the keys, and he even helped me tax the vehicle. Julie also advises which car insurance companies insure wheelchair adapted cars (as there aren’t many). All the ones I tried even the ‘comparison sites’ refused to insure me as I had a wheelchair, and the others were charging an extortionate amount for cover. Julie gave me a dealer code reference and suggested a disability insurance agency (they aren’t affiliated with them), but I was able to get a further reduction thanks to a special dealer code Julie gave me. I saved £400.
Julie and Peter advised that I can contact them at any time after the sale. The whole experience was professional, courteous and more importantly I felt safe and secure using their services. The car works like a dream, and I finally got my independence back after 3 years, so much so I went for a long drive and just enjoyed being out and about after nearly 3 years.
Thanks Wheelchair Cars, specifically Julie and Peter for helping me get back my independence. I would definitely recommend you to other people who are in a similar situation. I can’t recommend these people and wheelchairs Cars enough. They’ve been fantastic.

A friend researched and purchased a Citroen Berlingo Multispace Gleneagles Conversion for my husband. Literally, all I did was pay by debit card! The car was shipped to me in Cyprus, arrived ahead of schedule. That was last Septemper. Today I had a slight problem. As my friend is abroad, I telephoned Pete in the UK who talked me through how to get the electric belts system operational again. Sorry it has taken so long to show my appreciation, life is busy, but sincere thanks to everyone who was involved with me purchasing the car and for the after care received today.
We purchased a VW Caddy recently as we needed a more practical vehicle for my Dad. It has made life so much better both for him, his carer & family members when we take him out! We have the option of him riding in his wheelchair in the back or in the front passenger seat as the height is just right for him to transfer himself in and out! It’s very roomy so enough space for a family trip out. Although mainly bought for Dad it’s been invaluable for Mum as well! It’s a lovely vehicle!
From my first phone call to delivery of the vehicle I was dealt with by Peter!! He was so helpful & knowledgable along with being natural & genuine in his manner regarding customer service. He made you feel you were an individual and not just another customer!! On the day he delivered the vehicle nothing was too much trouble in explaining to myself & Dad’s carer how everything operated on the vehicle with regard to loading or winching the wheelchair on!! I phoned peter mundy at wheelchair cars regarding a automatic kangoo for my farther , He found time to guide me trough the diffrent floor lay outs and messured the bases of the kangoos he had in stock to see if he had a vehicle that would fit ower needs for my farther massive scooter , We have now decided to wait a while before we make a purchase but i will be phoning peter when we req a vehicle . many thanks .
Found internal transfer VW at wheelchair cars, needed urgently but also needed some extra adaptations from Sirus. Peter assured me he would not let the car go until I had investigated, he even took the car to Sirus for them to look it over. The car had 3000 miles on when purchased in Dec 2016, it now has 13,000. Some problems with Fuel injectors but Julie really helped to come to a happy resolution, Thanks Wheelchair cars, I love my Caddy.
My brothers negotiated with Wheelchair Cars. Peter very informative and not pushy. Fiat Doblo delivered with one week of seeing car to Ipswich from Eccles. Very clean, serviced, MOT, taxed, all paperwork completed so I could just “drive away into the sunset” with my mummy.

We wanted a small inexpensive wheelchair adapted vehicle to take my wife’s mum out in now she has lost mobility. For under £5k we got an excellent Renault kangoo with under 6k genuine miles on the clock which looked and smelt like a new car. Pete gave us a great demo of the vehicle showing us how to use the ramp and connections and we went on an extensive test drive. Pete had put four new tyres on the car as the originals were getting old despite the low mileage. All paperwork was present and correct and he even provided a stamp for the dvla. We are delighted that we will be able to add to the quality of my mum in laws life for a price we can afford and the car was as described and Pete was very helpful and understanding with no sales pressure whatsoever. Went to view the cars not really sure what i was looking for, they were really really helpful nothing was to much trouble finally decided on a voltswagon caddy which had a few small defects (i’m really fussy) which were sorted with no problems at all. it was delivered today to my home and shown how to work everything and all the little jobs had been done. The service is amazing can not help you enough.
A 1.4 petrol Fiat Doblo arrived yesterday to my house driven by Peter, from Manchester to Cornwall to deliver it, He took the time to explain all the details and take my wheelchair bound wife into the vehicle for a short test run. Purchased a mobility vehicle for my mobility scooter from Peter and Julie In November 2016. They are both genuine and reliable people who offer a trustworthy service. They showed us everything we needed to know about the vehicle and their after sales support is fantastic. This is a most caring and compassionate firm. They helped me to choose a suitable car for my disabled mother and were very sensitive and understanding of her needs. Julie gave me excellent advice and is a very knowledgeable and caring person who makes a great effort to ensure the car is right for you.
Thanks to her I was able to select the right car for Mum and paid a deposit and made plans to have it delivered to our home.
Sadly It was not to be as Mum caught a cold which turned to pneumonia and she passed away in hospital.
I have just rung to inform them and yet again I am impressed, despite the car being held in reserve for many weeks Julie has refunded my deposit in full and has taken the time to have a lovely chat with me on the phone. Thank you for making everything so easy for me at this difficult time, I am very impressed by this company and by it’s caring staff.

It was delivered with a smile by Peter, right on the dot despite the long distance to Aberdeen, and he meticulously went through all the operations with us plus we did a test drive. To say I am a fussy so and so is in my wife’s oppinion “is an understatement”. So with that in mind, plus the fact I have been driving wheelchair adapted vehicles for the last 16 years, I hope you will appreciate this open, honest and frank feedback.
I came across Wheelchair Cars on eBay by sheer luck. My search criteria was very precise. Having already bought on 4 seater plus wheelchair user Fiat Doblo for use abroad I wanted another.
However the Renault I spotted on line looked too nice to miss though! A quick call to the office and that was us on our way, less Lilie Rose who was in school at the time.
Long story short the Renault just didn’t cut it for us but the Silver 3 seat Fiat Doblo did.
Bought, paid for and delivered to our front door all within the blink of an eye. Brilliant! That was until a huge problem occured. My son decided to invite his girlfriend along with us to the Lakes. Whoops! Four bums into 3 seats just does not go.
Quick as a flash I was on the phone to Wheelchair Cars. Visit number two arranged and Kia Sedona chosen. Now this is where I really have to say “what a fantastic way of dealing with loyal customers Wheelchair Cars excelled themselves”.
No rip off on the trade in. No hassle switching the private registration, again. Every single thing I could wish for was taken care of from start to finish. Even down to a free replacement catch for the rear ramp when it decided to pop off 3 months after purchase. Simple wear and tear but still nothing was too much for the fantastic folk.
Three questions I always ask my self after making a purchase.
1) Did I leave with a huge smile on my face? Answer. Most certainly.
2) Would I buy from them again? Answer Yes.
And finally number
3) Would I genuinely recommend a friend and more importantly a stranger to deal with this company. The answer with hand on heart would most certainly be YES.

Purchased a lovely Vauxhall Agila from Wheelchaircars this week for my Mum and received a first class service from start to finish.
Being based down on the South Coast I had a lot of questions about buying a car from quite a distance away, however based on their good reputation I thought it worth exploring this possibility. I was immediately put at ease with the quick, detailed and helpful responses I got to my questions. It was evident that customer satisfaction was a priority and Peter and Julie went out their way to ensure that everything went smoothly.
There was a problem my end with the transporter I hired turning up much later than arranged, this meant he didn’t get to the garage until after closing hours! However, Peter was fantastic and stayed late to ensure the move went ahead. Customer service at its best!

I am pleased to say I purchased my first WAV car there, as I was looking for a small one for my scooter. Which I am delighted with. I was very surprised how all their cars are kept in pristine condition. After having viewed cars at other garages. Peter showed me round several of their cars. I noticed all looked in mint condition. Peter found me a small one I could easily drive. (after being use to a small car). I also got a fair price for my car in part-exchange.
